Philip Vaughn Hutchison, 69, of Juniata Terrace, Lewistown, passed away at 2:10 a.m., Monday, February 24, 2025, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Lewistown.
Born May 18, 1955, in Providence, R.I., he was a son of the late Donald R. and Lois M. (Gingerich) Hutchison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Hutchison, and brother-in-law, Richard Boaz.
Philip is survived by: his wife of 47 years, Brenda (Forshey) Hutchison; children, Casi Hutchison, and Kevin Hutchison and wife, Dara, both of Lewistown; three grandchildren, Adriyanna Hutchison, Miley Knepp, and Zaymon Hutchison; and mother-in-law, Rose Forshey, of Lewistown.
He was a graduate of Juniata High School, Class of 1973, and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Philip was employed as a cab driver in his earlier years, by Mann Edge Tool Company for 14 years before their closing, and lastly, at New Holland in Belleville before retiring. After retirement, he sold seasonal flowers and fireworks as a tent vendor, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
Philip’s grandchildren were his pride and joy and he always attended as many recitals and ball games as he could. He was a dedicated sports fan and especially loved watching Penn State, Steelers, and the Phillies.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown, followed by the memorial service at 6:30 p.m., with Mr. Neil Breneman officiating.
