Piccola L. 'Sil' (Shirk) Williams

Piccola L. ‘Sil’ Williams, 69, of Goss Terrace and formerly of Henrietta Street, Lewistown, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital’s Emergency Department.  

She was the daughter of the late Stowie G. and Betty M. (Huffman) Shirk.    

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her son, Richard Allen Swartz Jr.; brother, Stowie G. Shirk Jr.; and sister, Nadine Hammill.

Surviving are:  daughters, Paula Heimbach and husband, Nick, of Lewistown, Cindy Swartz and fiancé, Bob Polansky, of Millheim, and Kathy Jo Swartz and companion, Marlin Clinger, of Lewistown; grandson, Derek Heimbach and fiancée, Rachel Johnson, of State College; and sisters, Gloria Bender and husband, James, of Lewistown, Melva Barnes and husband, John, of Mifflintown, and Christina Frampton, of Shermans Dale.

Sil retired from Valley View Retirement Community in 2017 with 26 years of service.

She had a kind, generous spirit and dedicated her life to caring for others.  She loved animals and truly enjoyed catering to her numerous “furry friends” throughout her life.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at Pleasant View Cemetery, Pleasant View Road, McVeytown, with Reverend John Walters officiating. 

Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan Street, Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
