Rajeshwar Parkash Malhotra

It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved father and husband, Dr. Rajeshwar Parkash Malhotra who left us on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the age of 76. Raj was not only a pillar of the Lewistown community, but a wonderful, engaged father and a devoted and loving husband. He was a man of immense generosity, honesty, humor and kindness.

Raj was born in India to Vidya and Shanti Malhotra and was surrounded by his four loving siblings. He graduated from medical school from Glancy Medical College and immigrated to this country in 1973 after marrying Dr. Shashpal Malhotra. He completed his residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville and relocated to Lewistown where he set up their OB/GYN practice which served thousands of women in this area for 44 years. His dedication to women’s health touched a countless number of families by providing high quality, personalized care to those when they were most in need.

He had a passion for life and adventure, lifting up all those fortunate enough to be in his sphere. Though he spent time traveling around the world, nothing made him happier than entertaining family and friends at his house, playing golf and bridge in his local leagues, dancing to big band music, playing his saxophone, reading by the fireplace, skiing and playing tennis. His talents and hobbies were limitless, but none surpassed the thoughtful care and unconditional love he showed his wife, three children, five grandchildren and extended family throughout his life. There will never be another Dr. R.P. Malhotra and his legacy will carry on in all our hearts forever.

A viewing will be held Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
