Richard Ross Obituary

Richard Albert Ross, 83, of McVeytown, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, at his home.              

Born Dec. 12, 1938, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late George C. and Minnie (Thomas) Ross.                

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, George, James, Howard and Joseph Ross, and four sisters, Mary Farleman, Elsie Woodward, Janet Powell and Nore Clinger.      

Richard is survived by: wife, Esther (Smoker) Ross; his girls who he dearly loved, Bonnie J., Carol E. and Donna J. Ross, all of McVeytown; and seven siblings, Rebecca Stine, of McVeytown, John Ross and wife, Paula, of Yeagertown, Shirley Ross, of Mifflintown, Joan Sheetz and husband, Richard, of New Lancaster Valley, William Ross, of McClure, Ronald Ross, of Belleville, and Archie Ross, of New Lancaster Valley.

He was Protestant by faith.

He retired from Overhead Door Corporation as a door sander.

Richard loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Rev. Darvin Donahey officiating.

Interment will take place at Mount Rock Cemetery, Oakland Avenue, Lewistown.
