Robert “Bob” Earl Bay, 79, of Lewistown, passed away at 10:22 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2024, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Nov. 11, 1944, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Marlin C. and Matilda M. (Williams) Bay.
Robert is survived by: wife, Betty (Corson) Bay, whom he married in 1964; children, Laura Brought and husband, Scott, Carrie Forshey and husband, Joe, and Rob Bay and wife, Steph, all of Lewistown; nine grandchildren, Eric Brought and fiancée, Samanta Jeller, Nicholas Brought and companion, Sara Scott, Greg Forshey and wife, Mandy, Katie Wilson and husband, Allen, Deanna Davis, Jocelyn Sunderland, and Olivia, Braelyn, and Myla Bay; great-granddaughters, Amelia and Samantha Forshey, and Isabella Wilson; and siblings, George Bay and wife, Loisann, of Bradford, Janet Bingaman, of Mattawana, and Debra Sheaffer and husband, Dave, of Hershey.
He was a graduate of Chief Logan High School, Class of 1962.
Robert was an active member of Holy Communion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Yeagertown, where he served on the Church Council.
Early in life, he was a home delivery milkman. Bob worked at Standard Steel Corp., American Viscose Corp., at Calkins Automotive for many years, Lake Chevrolet and Automotive, and lastly at Susquehanna RV.
Family meant everything to Bob. He assisted with his son’s Boy Scout troop activities and loved family picnics and traveling. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and tinkering with cars and various projects. Bob was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State football fan.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan Street, Lewistown.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Hoenstine Funeral Home, with Rev. Carla Volland officiating.
Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
