Robert “Bob” N. Haller, 92, of Lewistown, passed away at Noon, Monday, Sept. 2, 2024, at Embassy at Hearthside, State College.
Born June 2, 1932, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Fred D. and Maude (Biddle) Haller. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by: his wife, Pauline E. (Linthurst) Haller, on May 10, 2011; son, Robert C. Haller; daughter, Betsy Tomasik; five brothers, Fred, George, Paul, William, and Max Haller; and six sisters, Margaret McNitt, Ada Heckendorn, Mildred Wolf, Jeanne Eisner, Betty Thomas, and Doris Rudy. He was the last of his immediate family.
Bob is survived by: sons, Steven Haller and wife, Sherry, of Leesport, and Jon Paul Haller, of Lewistown; daughter-in-law, Joyce Bentley, of Newport; three grandchildren, Christine Haller, of Leesport, Jon Tomasik and wife, Karen, of Alaska, and Carrie Wendorf and husband, Justin, of McClure; great-granddaughters, Emily and Rebecca Tomasik, of Alaska; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served during the Korean conflict, and a member of Vira United Methodist Church.
Bob was employed as a transportation manager for 3-M Corporation in Freehold, N.J. for 21 years prior to retiring.
He enjoyed caring for his lawn and tending to his garden and beautiful array of flowers. When his grandchildren were young, Bob especially loved taking them to the old mill pond stream in Reedsville to explore and feed the ducks.
A Celebration of Life service will begin at Noon on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at Vira United Methodist Church, 111 Long Lane, Lewistown, with Pastor Joshua Randolph officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert’s memory may be made to Lumina Center, 18 East Third Street, Lewistown, PA 17044.
