Robert "Bob" L. Kauffman Sr., 77, of Lewistown, formerly of Hummelstown, passed into the presence of the Lord Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
He was born Feb. 8, 1943, in Lewistown, to the late Lester C. and Ruth (Bossinger) Kauffman. He was also predeceased by an infant son, Brian Paul Kauffman, and his sister, Mary Ann Kauffman.
Bob is survived by: his wife of 57 years, Marjorie (Mayes) Kauffman; their two children, Robert "Rob" L Jr. and wife, Karen, and their children, Aaron and Justin Kauffman, of Mechanicsburg, and Andrew and wife, Angela, and their children, Annika and Aiden Kauffman, of Montrose, Minn. Also surviving are two brothers, Richard Kauffman and wife, Eileen, of Harrisburg, and Edward Kauffman and wife, Vicki, of Yeagertown.
Bob graduated from Rothrock High School, Class of 1961, and Williamsport Technical Institute, Class of 1964.
He and his wife served the Lord as missionary associates in Burkina Faso, West Africa, from 1981 to 1992. He loved having this opportunity and enjoyed sharing his experiences with others.
Bob served First Alliance Church, Harrisburg, and Pine Glen Alliance Church, Lewistown, in various positions, and was recently honored by Pine Glen Alliance for his service and dedication to the Lord and to the Church.
He retired in 2009 as Vice President of AMS of Skelly and Loy, Inc., Harrisburg.
Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed many times at camp with his grandsons and his brothers. He was an avid reader, sports fan, and loved spending time in the mountains, walking in the woods, hunting and fishing.
There will be a private family service only at this time. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main Street, Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
