Rose Riden Obituary

Rose M. Riden, 72, of Milroy, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, at her home.

Born on September 16, 1949, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Elizabeth L. (Dukes) Marker and William E. Marker, who survives.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by; siblings, Stephen Marker, and Alice Marker; brothers-in-law, Donald Folk, and Brad Snook; nephews, Stephen Marker, Jr. and Chase Kerstetter.

In addition to her father, she is survived by; her husband, Wayne K. Riden, whom she married April 6, 1984; siblings, Mary Snook, of Milroy, Carol McClenahen and husband, Gary, of Reedsville, Linda Folk, of Lewistown, Gregory Marker, of Burnham, Thomas Marker and wife, Sheri, of Reedsville; sister-in-law, Cindy Marker, of Reedsville, and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Rose was a Kishacoquillas High School graduate, Class of 1968.

She attended First Baptist Church, of Lewistown where she was a Deaconess and Missions Treasurer for many years

Rose worked for IFC, for people with mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities for 30 years where she later retired.

She loved the mountains, hiking, camping, fishing, watching, and feeding the birds, which were a great joy to her. She also loved her cat Smokey, and flower gardening, all of God’s great outdoors. Roses’ greatest joy was to tell everyone about her Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, and her awesome walk with him.

A committal service will be held at a later date at Mount Rock Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rose’s memory may be made to A Charity of One’s Choice.
