Rosellen Frey Obituary

Rosellen Frey, 77, of Lewistown, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born October 30,1946 in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Merrill F. and Doris P. (Peck) Druckenmiller.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Marlin Druckenmiller and brother-in-law Frank DeArment.

She is survived by her husband, David J. Frey, whom she married on September 5, 1965; son, Brian D. Frey and Heidi L. King of Lewistown; daughter, Amy F. and David Carrier, of Lynchburg, VA; grandchildren, Zane D. and Olivia Frey, of Lewistown; Logan Spicher, of Lewistown; Leyla Gulomova, of Lynchburg, VA; and great-granddaughters, Emmah, Halle, and Kenadee Frey; siblings, Marilyn DeArment of Lewistown, and Martin Druckenmiller, of Milroy; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Rosellen was a 1964 graduate of Chief Logan High School, and earned her Bachelor’s degree at Penn State. She was a recognized scholar and member of Kappa Alpha Tau and Theta Sigma Phi, national societies for academic excellence in journalism and communication.

She taught English at Rothrock High School and later worked at The Mifflin County Redevelopment Authority and The Standard Steel.  She had a long and successful healthcare career in marketing, human resources and physician practice management at The Meadows Psychiatric Center, The Center for Mental Health and Sun Point Health prior to her retirement.

Rosellen was a Master Gardener, affiliated with the Penn State extension office. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family and faithful companion cocker spaniel, Casey.

A receiving of friends will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Monday, February 19, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Pastor Rich Fangmann officiating.

Interment will be held at Juniata Memorial Park at a later date. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Penn State Master Gardeners of Mifflin County, or to The Mifflin County Library.
