Roy F. Bowersox, Jr.

Roy F. ‘Skip’ Bowersox Jr., 76, of Lewistown, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born July 1, 1947, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Roy F. Bowersox Sr. and Olivia C. (Varner) Bowersox.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Bowersox, and two sisters, Joy A. Eby, Keitha  Sue Bowersox.

He is survived by his wife, Rose M. (Wileman) Bowersox, whom he married on November 15, 1974; sisters, Libby Trego, of Port Royal, and Delores Simmons; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

Earlier in life, he was a member of the Junction and Mifflin Fire Companies.

He was a Juniata High School graduate, Class of 1968.

Skip attended Evangelical Methodist in Oakland Mills and New Life Church in Burnham.

He worked at Empire Kosher, Clarion, and Armstrong Cabinets where he later retired.

Skip enjoyed going fishing and hunting and volunteering as Santa Claus for the ARC daycare.  He loved being around people, especially his family and friends.

A receiving of friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2023, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
