Ruth I. Snook, 91, formerly of McClure, passed away at 12:20 a.m., Saturday, May 30, 2020, at Ohesson Manor, Lewistown.
Born Oct. 7, 1928, in East Waterford, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Meryl and Mary (Campbell) Goss.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Gerald E. "Sonny" Snook, Dec. 5, 2019; and a son, Carl M. Snook, April 28, 2016.
Ruth is survived by: children, Terry L. "Ted" Snook Sr. and wife, Jean Ann, of New Freedom, Ralph E. Snook Sr., of Lewistown, Jack Campbell, of Chambersburg, and Mary (Campbell) Filler, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Terry L. Snook Jr. and wife, Ang, Tera Baum and husband, Kerry Sr., Tricia Galbreath and husband, John, Ryan Snook, and Ralph Snook Jr.; great-grandchildren, Avery, Amelia, Kerry Jr., Keith, McKenna, Greyson, Hunter and Ky; and brothers-in-law, Gary Snook Sr. and wife, Linda, of Lewistown, and Burton Snook, of McClure.
Ruth was a member of Dormantown Lutheran Church.
In her early years, she worked at Red's Diner and the lunch counter at McCrory's in downtown Lewistown.
Ruth was a member of the Decatur Fire Company Ladies' Auxiliary and an active volunteer for company events and fund raisers. She loved camping and enjoyed attending antique machinery and tractor shows with husband, Sonny.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 4, 2020, at Samuel's Cemetery in McClure, with Rev. Clark Kelsey officiating. Those attending should meet at the cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date, with details to be announced.
Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, is in charge of arrangements.
