Samuel G. Orris, 75, of Ickesburg, passed away on September 24, 2025, at Brookline Manor in Mifflintown.

Born February 12, 1950, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Josiah Fosselman and Diane (Orris) Geedy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie C. Orris.

He is survived by his children, Robert L. Orris and wife, Tracey, of Landisburg, Charles J. Orris and wife, Ronda, of Mifflintown, and Michelle R. Orris, of McAlisterville; grandchildren, Dustin Orris, Thomas Orris and wife, Kelsey, Randi Bowersox and spouse, Robert, Carly Smith and husband, Ridge, Taylor McCoy and spouse, Michael; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Michael Fosselman and wife, Teresa, of St. Petersburg, FL, Pamela Barkley and husband, James, of Newport, Gregory Fosselman and wife, Diane, of McAlisterville, Joshiah Fosselman III and wife, Terry, of Millerstown; and a step-sister, Donna Zaring, and husband, Larry, of Newport.

Samuel was an active member of American Legion #298, VFW Post 5863, Insulators Local #23 in Mifflintown.

He graduated from Newport High School in 1969. He proudly served as a United States Marine from 1969 to 1971.

Sam worked as a heating and insulation specialist for Local 23.

He loved to hunt and enjoyed collecting knives. Samuel was known as a social butterfly, he loved a good drink and enjoyed talking to everyone he met.
