Samuel Dennis Toner, Sr., 79, of Madera, PA, passed away July 9, 2020, at UPMC Altoona Hospital.
Born May 1, 1941, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late George and Mary (Vanish) Toner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: wife, Donna G. (Gross) Toner; grandsons, Timothy Toner and Sean Robinson; and siblings, George “Sonny” Toner, Jim Toner, and Betty Toner.
He is survived by: children, Sherri Robinson, of Gibsonia, and Samuel Dennis Toner, Jr.; grandchildren, Courtney Ondrejko and Pat, and Erica Robinson; great-grandchildren, Rory Ondrejko and Lily Ondrejko; sister, Gloria Barrett, of McCartney; son-in-law, Gary Robinson.
Sam was a member of the Moose in Madera and VFW Post 7043, in Coalport.
He was a 1959 graduate of Lewistown High School.
Sam retired from the Navy with the rank of Chief Petty Officer and 20 years of service, and he also retired from Chelsea Building Products, in Oakmont, PA with 20 years of service.
A graveside service with interment will take place at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown, with special services provided by VFW Post 7011.
