Sandra Eversole, 82 of West Hills Lewistown passed in her home surrounded by family on January 3rd, 2025.
Born Alejandra Anos February 20th, 1942 in Olongapo Philippines as a member of the Roman Catholic Church, she was the wife of the late William H. Eversole Sr. of Lewistown.
She is survived by: four children, Shirley Reynolds, Christine Eversole, William Eversole Jr. and wife, Heather, Stephanie Kearns and husband, Will; eight grandchildren, Daniella Reynolds, Brittni Reynolds, Paige Kearns, Bradyn Eversole, Parker Kearns, Abby Eversole, Peyton Kearns, Cole Eversole; two great-grandchildren, Kale Kellander, Andreas Aparicio.
Having been raised in the Philippines and holding a close Filipino community she leaves behind nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Sandra worked hard her entire life supporting her family as a young girl and selling fried rice from banana leaves! Her husband, William, fell in love with her at the fried rice stand. This rice has become a family must have for every get together!
She gave birth to her first daughter in the Philippines and bravely moved to the US without any knowledge of language or culture. She learned the language, became a US citizen and raised her children to be just as strong and powerful as she was. She was so proud of and loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren so very much. She hosted many parties for family and friends and her home is the center of the family get together’s. She loved the hustle and bustle of all the family talking, playing, laughing and eating! She never let anyone go hungry or without a coat!
She worked for Sanyo and the Giant and worked harder than anyone. With William, “Pap” she “Gram” ran the Nittany Den and Bill’s Produce.
An avid and very enthusiastic sports fan she LOVED Penn State Football and baseball’s Fightin’ Phillies! She was the loudest cheerleader for all her grandchildren’s sporting events!
She never let on if she was in pain and always kept a positive attitude; even through her leukemia diagnosis in 1993. She fought leukemia for decades against the gravest of odds.
Sandy loved her slot machines and always wanted “one more spin”. She will now have all the spins she can hope for sitting beside Bill in a big casino in the sky.
She will be incredibly missed and is irreplaceable.
A viewing will be held from 11 to 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at 12:30 p.m., with Pastor Mark Hill officiating.
