Sheldon L. Romig Sr. Obituary

Sheldon L. Romig Sr., 82, of McClure, passed away Sunday, February  16, 2025, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.


Born July 9, 1942, in McClure, he was the son of the late Hurley and Dorothy (Himes) Romig.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Romig.


He is survived by his wife, Sandra L. (Mowery) Romig, whom he married Feb. 17, 2008; children, Sandy Fellows and husband, John, of Lewistown, Shelby Wagner and husband, Sid, of Kramer, Sheldon L. Romig Jr., of McClure, Shawn Romig, of VA; step-daughters, Michelle Arnold and husband, Steve, and Nicole Fink, both of McClure; grandchildren, Dace Landis, Skyler Williams, Samantha Seby and husband, Tyler, and Miranda Williams; great-grandchildren, Mia Ciccolini, Marley Williams, Hunter Williams, Alana Seby, and Oakley Williams; siblings, Gloria Moyer, of Beaver Springs, Karen Rhodes, of McClure, Ilene Fultz and husband, Gregg, of McClure.


He was a lifetime member of Decatur Sportsman’s Club. He was a member of the All American Cruisers.


Sheldon worked at American Hickory making axe handles, where he later retired.


He loved to go to car shows and take his 1955 Ford Crown Victoria. He enjoyed going for mountain rides. Sheldon enjoyed being outside doing yard work, and going hunting and fishing. He liked going out to eat especially for breakfast and he would talk to anyone!


A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham.


A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
