Stanley Trego Obituary

Stanley E. Trego, 69, of Lewistown, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Cumberland Crossings, Carlisle.          

Born March 5, 1952, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Samuel A. and Sarah (Knepp) Trego.  

In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Sara D. (Coldren) Trego on March 18, 2021.

Surviving are: three daughters, Sara Beth and Roberta L. Trego, both of Carlisle, and Susan E. Deihl and husband, Patrick, of Boiling Springs; grandchildren, Marshall and Morgan; and his brother, Bruce E. Trego and spouse, Sandra Beeman, of Mifflintown.  

He was a Lewistown High School graduate, Class of 1970.

Stanley was a member of First Church of the Brethren, where he served as a deacon and head usher. 

He was employed at Kmart in Burnham in his earlier years.  Most recently, he worked as a cook for the Mifflin County Area Agency on Aging.    

Stanley regularly participated in the Mifflin County senior games and senior bowling league.  He also enjoyed racing model cars and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.       

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 5, 2021, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 6, at First Church of the Brethren, 134 Shaw Avenue, Lewistown, with Reverend Craig Gandy officiating. 

Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.

Memorial contributions in Stanley’s memory may be made to the V Foundation for Cancer Research (Victory Over Cancer), 14600 Weston Parkway, Cary, NC 27513.
