Stephanie E. Mateer, 67, of Lewistown, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

Born September 25, 1958, in Arcadia, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Charles Foster and Betty J. Kinzer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Mateer, and a brother.

Stephanie is survived by her children, Amanda Hatt and Michael Hatt, both of Florida; her in‑laws, James Mateer Jr. and his wife, Juniata, of Reedsville, and Joyce R. Roushia and her husband, Scott, of North Carolina; and her beloved dog, Buddy.

She will be deeply missed by her many close friends: Heather Lane and her husband, Anthony, and their sons, Xavier and Quinton; Shawnie Lane and her companion, Ed Hamman; Peg Young; Barb Lewis; Jeff Kelly; Robin Everly; AC Eilis; Martina Moler; Popeye Everly; Rick Doyle; Raymond,  Karen Paige, and Marsha Hassinger; and her friends at Major League. Stephanie cherished the people in her life, and they cherished her right back.

She worked for many years at Kentucky Fried Chicken, where she retired as a manager. Her dedication, humor, and steady presence made her a favorite among coworkers and customers alike.

A celebration of Stephanie’s life will be held at a later date.
