Stephen K. Ammerman, 75, of Lewistown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at his home.
Born November 14, 1949, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Kohler E. and Dorothy (Derr) Ammerman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, G. Wesley Ammerman and a sister Roxanne Ammerman.
He is survived by his wife Fay A. Ammerman; children, Kathi Jo Bleyer and husband, Jamie, of Alfarata, Kristi Luse and husband, Shawn, of Centre Hall, Kimberli Hampton, of McClure, Stephen P. Ammerman and wife, Nicole, of Lock Haven; step-children, Jeremy Landes, of Lewistown, Jason Landes and wife, Tonya, of McClure, Cecil Landes and wife, Tina, of Dauphin; 21 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and four on the way; brother, Daniel Ammerman and wife, Darlene, of Burnham; and his beloved dog, Sammy; many loving nieces and nephews.
Stephen was a graduate of Chief Logan High School.
He retired from Standard Steel after 49 years of service.
He was a dedicated sports fan, his heart filled with the thrill of competition. He had a passion for classic cars and eagerly anticipated each year’s Carlisle Car Show. He loved spending time at his camper at Shoop’s Campground.
The family extends its deepest gratitude to Advantage Hospice and their staff, Kim, Ally, Kandice, Jennifer, Dan, Brittany, and Beth for their compassionate and exceptional care during Stephen’s final days.
A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 am, Friday, June 20, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am, with Pastor Randy Traxler officiating.
Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Foundation or Pets Come First.
