Stephen M. French

Stephen M. French, 62, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020, at his home.

Born October 25, 1957, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Andrew “Andy” and Kate (Corbin) French.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Stephen French; a cousin, who was like a brother, Brian McCafferey

He is survived by: wife, Karen (Cleck) French, whom he married Dec. 22, 2007; step-children, John Shepps and companion, Selena Ewing, Tony Shepps and wife, Amy, and Matthew Shepps; six grandchildren, whom he loved dearly; siblings, Patricia (Miller) Hamm and husband, Tony, of Florida, and David Snyder, of Lewistown; two cousins that were like brothers, Bradley McCaffery and wife, Ellen, of Lewistown, Curt McCaffery and wife, Eli, of York; and a niece, Rachel McCaffery, who he also loved dearly.

He attended Rothrock High School.

Steve loved his family. He enjoyed going camping in the mountains, watching Nascar racing, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved his animals and took pride in his large fish aquarium and his outdoor pond.
