Susan M. Earnest, 73, of Lewistown, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025, at William Penn Nursing and Rehabilitation with her daughter, Michelle, by her side.

Born April 17, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Vincent Baney and Elsie (Reeves) Baney.

In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her brother Robert Baney and her sister, Nancy Carolus.

Susan is survived by her husband of almost 55 years, Leonard Earnest, children Daryl Earnest and companion, Stephanie Lowe, of McAlisterville, Michelle McMahon and husband, Russell, of Lewistown, her greatest pride and joy was her granddaughter Briana Piper and husband, Edward “Joey” Piper; siblings, Jean Baney of Unionville and Vince Baney and wife, Carol, of Unionville.

She was a graduate of Bald Eagle High School and worked for many years at the West End Store.

Susan cherished trips with Michelle and Briana, and she also delighted in activities like wine tasting, sightseeing, attending Sight & Sound Theatre, and taking train rides.

A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn with Pastor Kirk Nagel officiating.

Interment will take place at Mount Rock Cemetery.
