Susan Jane Gardner

Susan Jane Gardner, 82, of Lewistown, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born on March 24, 1941, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Vincent (Ben)L. Folk and Margaret Pearl (Simmons) Folk.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Richard Lee Gardner Sr., and a sister, Jean Rogers.

She is survived by; children, Beth A. Spigelmyer and husband, Toby, of Mifflin, Richard L. Gardner Jr. and wife, Kelly, of Altoona, Christopher B. Gardner and wife, Brittania, of Bloomsburg, Meredith D. Gardner and companion, Zack Thompson, of Lewistown and Keri S. Gardner and companion, Clint Laughlin, of Port Royal; grandchildren, Jared, Tia, Kier, Bryn, Christopher II, Yolanda, Rochelle, Lathon, Alyson, Kaleb, Aubrey, Kahly, Matthew, and Bailey; 20 great-grandchildren; and many step-grandchildren; a brother, and loving caretaker and family friend, Ingrid Folk.

She was a longtime faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.

Susan was a Lewistown High School graduate, Class of 1959.

In her earlier years, she worked at Longs Dairy, Scotty’s Fashion, and Sweet Treat Vending.

She attended Parkinson’s support group meetings. She was a great help to her great-granddaughter, Talynn, in helping her fight and beat cancer.

Per her wishes, no services to be held.

Private interment at a later date will be held in Alfarata Cemetery.
