Susan Kay Rice, 77, formerly of Walnut Street, Reedsville, died at 11:53 a.m., Monday, September 29, 2024, in San Diego, Calif.  Born May 16, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Iona (Cutler) Walters of Lewistown.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Clifford “Cliff” Rice III in 2010.  Susan is survived by her son, G.C. Rice IV and partner, Whitney Elsen, of San Diego.

Susan was a 1965 graduate of Lewistown-Granville High School and was employed at Standard Steel.  She left the workforce to become a homemaker and was a dedicated mother and wife to her family.  She never missed a sporting event or school activity, and generally spoiled her son, husband, and dogs rotten.  In her later years, she enjoyed watching her Philadelphia Phillies almost nightly, more recently with G.C. by her side in San Diego.
