Susan "Suz" Renninger Obituary

Susan Elaine Renninger, 63, of McClure, passed away at 7:36 p.m., Monday, October 30, 2023, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born June 11, 1960, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Paul Arnold Sr. and Delores (Wilkins) Arnold, of Lewistown, who survives.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Lash.

In addition to her mother, Susan is survived by:  husband, Scott Renninger; daughter, Heather Pully and husband, Jeremy, of McClure; son, Eric Renninger and companion, Ervin Richardson, of Harrisburg; stepchildren, Karla Renninger, and Kelly Denunzio and husband, Chad, both of Reading, and Paula McCulley, of Orlando, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Rylee, Jace, Nolan, Parker, Carter, Christian, Cadyn and Cora; brother, Paul Arnold Jr. and wife, Hiltrude, of McClure; and sister, Cindy Hunter and companion, Michael Romig, of McClure.

Susan was a Chief Logan High School graduate, Class of 1978.

She was a member of Lawvers United Methodist Church.

Susan was employed by Fisher Electronics as an assembler and most recently, delivered medications for Geisinger Pharmacy.  Her patients became her friends, and she was adored by many.

Susan, or as many affectionately nicknamed her, Suz, loved her family more than anything—especially her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed gardening, decorating her home, going for trike rides, and taking pictures.  She would often be spotted all over the community, visiting many local restaurants and spending her days shopping with her sister.

Suz had an immense love of traveling; spending time all over the United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and multiple European countries.  Her biggest goal, especially after being diagnosed with cancer six and a half years ago, was to visit all 50 states.  With the help of her husband and kids, she completed this goal in April 2023 when her plane landed in Idaho.  Suz’s perseverance to continue living life to the fullest despite her diagnosis was an inspiration to all.  The completion of her travel goals reached local newspapers, television stations, and was even featured in a speech on the floor of the U.S. Congress.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown.  A Celebration of Life service will follow at 4 p.m., with Pastor James Jacobs officiating.
