Terry L. Jones, 67, of Lewistown, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital at 10:10 pm. Born on June 2, 1956, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Bill Jones and Hazel (Wagner) Jones.

Terry is survived by his devoted wife, Mayshell D. (Smith) Jones; his son, Steven M. Hogle Jr. and his wife, Christine M. Hogle, of Lewistown; and his beloved granddaughter, Allison M. Hogle. He also leaves behind his sisters, Jane Dunn, of Reedsville, and Judy Jones, of Lewistown; as well as his nieces, Sierra Snyder, Amber Whitman, along with his dog Charlie.

Terry was a man of faith and received his baptism and final rites from Brad Williams. He was an active member of the Owl’s Club, reflecting his commitment to his community.

He was a proud graduate of Kishacoquillas High School. Terry’s early years included working at Gus’s Pizza as a teenager. He later worked for Jack Hess Construction and Ronald Johnson Construction before establishing his own successful business, Terry’s Home Improvements, which he operated for over 25 years.

Beyond his career as a skilled carpenter, Terry was a passionate and talented drummer. He played in numerous local bands, starting with Bomb Scare, Saten and Stone alongside Billy Royer, and Slum Yuppies with Joe Williams and Ron-Boi, among many others. Terry found joy in spending time at Lake Raystown with friends and family, and he cherished playing cards, chess, and shooting pool. An avid fisherman, he found peace and pleasure in the sport.

Terry is now reunited with his loyal companion, ‘Dutchie,’ and his best friends, Bob Williamson, Jr. Shaffer, and Mike Aultz.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Terry’s honor and memory to the Mifflin County Academy of Science and Technology (Construction Club) at 700 Pitt St., Lewistown.
