Thelma Jean Royer, 93, of Lewistown, passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2019, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Born May 4, 1926, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Warren J. and Blanche P. (Frazier) Kempfer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; her husband, Emmett B. Royer, who she married in March of 1951; a son, Benny E. Royer; and a sister, Patricia L. Bonner.
She is survived by; two granddaughters, Billie Jo Royer, and Bobbie Jo Royer, both of Lewistown; three grandchildren, Dillyn James Eugene Royer, Dakota Joseph Hooper and Cheyanne Marie Hooper; a sister, Annabelle Zimmerman, of Harrisburg; caretakers and friends, James and Marcia Hackenberg, of Strodes Mills.
Thelma worked at the American Viscose Corporation, retiring in 1972 after 26 years of service.
She enjoyed crocheting, watching football and baseball, fishing and shopping. She loved her cat Sweetie and her grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., on Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, with a funeral service at the funeral home, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Randy Traxler officiating.
Interment will take place at Mattawana Cemetery.
