Thomas Harold Wismer

Thomas Harold Wismer, 84, formerly of Lewistown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Monday, March 2, 2020.

Born July 19, 1935, in Norristown, he was a son of the late Amos H. and Margary (Hanawalt) Wismer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Shirley Ann Wismer; daughter, Susan L. Baker; brothers, Robert Wismer and Steven Wismer.

He is survived by: son, Timothy Wismer and wife, Linda, of Lansdale; three grandchildren, Jonathan Baker and wife, Andrea, Michael Baker and Andrew Baker; one great-granddaughter, Ava Baker; a sister, Margary Stull, of Greenville.; and a son-in-law, Mark Baker, of Lewistown.

Thomas was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

He was a Lewistown High School graduate, Class of 1953.

He worked at American Viscose from 1955-1962, and Avtec Specialty Yarns 1963-1995, where he retired as an Operations Manager.

He was a car enthusiast. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren at their sporting events. Voted second-team all-time Panther Grid Team.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, March 5, 2020, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dick Williams officiating.

Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
