Victor Lewis Simonetti, 81, of Burnham, passed away at 12:05 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Aug. 7, 1941, in Burnham, he was a son of the late Ciro and Rose (Ferrazzuola) Simonetti. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters, and a grandson, Brayden Fetters.
Victor is survived by: his loving wife of 60 years, Jean (Copeman) Simonetti; four children, Annette Royer and husband, James, and Cheryl Simonetti, both of Lewistown, Belinda McKnight and husband, Darryl, of Reedsville, and Victor Simonetti Jr. and wife, Laci, of Yeagertown; nine grandchildren, Heather Freeman and husband, Joe, Nathan Royer and wife, Anna, Sharielle Willow and husband Rodney, Josh Wray and wife, Taz, Krystal Fetters, Kathy Goss and husband, Perry, Quention Simonetti and fiancé, Rea’Shawna Varner, Isaac Smith, and Caleb Smith; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ida Treaster, of Milroy.
Victor was a Chief Logan High School graduate, Class of 1960.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1967 as a jet aircraft mechanic.
After military service, he was employed at the American Viscose Corporation and then by Standard Steel as a crane operator, retiring in 2004.
He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lewistown.
Victor loved his family and family always came first. He was a mentor, role model, protector, and a giver. Victor’s life was a walking example of what the head of a family should be. He led by example with great love. Victor enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and riding his motorcycle.
A viewing will be held from Noon to 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Avenue, Burnham, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m., with Father William Weary officiating.
Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, with military honors by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.
