Virginia “Jenny” Lee Hook, 64, of Lewistown, passed away at 4:35 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.
Born Nov. 16, 1957, in Wilmington, Del., she was a daughter of the late George B. Jr. and Ida Mae (Sellers) Hook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wesley “Andy” Hook, and a great-niece, Emmalynn Hook.
Virginia is survived by: children, Heather (Spigelmyer) Thomas and husband, William, of Lewistown, and Justin Hook and wife, Kasi, of Lewistown; three grandchildren, Marcus, Rakim and Eboni Thomas; great-grandsons, Syrus and Elias Thomas; siblings, Lash Hook, of Lewistown, George Hook, of Somerset, Barbara Hook and companion, Alfred Howell, of Lewistown, and Celeste Hook, of Lewistown; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was a graduate of Lewistown High School.
Early in life, Jenny was employed at Scotty’s Fashions and Laskaris’ Restaurant in Lewistown, and at Custom Chrome Harley-Davidson Shop, Linglestown.
Virginia loved playing Bingo and scratch off games, watching wrestling and soap operas, and attending local wrestling events. She enjoyed babysitting and taxiing around her great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, at Lind Memorial Cemetery, Green Avenue, Lewistown, with Reverend John Walters officiating.
