Wanda Lou (Brower) Armstrong, 68, of McClure, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Aug. 18, 1956, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Albert L. Brower and Julia C. (Newlands) Brower, of Lewistown, who survives.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Tonda L. Stewart and Pamela J. Brower.
Wanda is survived by: husband of 51 years, Robin L. Armstrong; sons, Aaron Armstrong and wife, Shana, and Nicholas Armstrong and companion, Danyelle Sunderland, both of McClure; five grandchildren, Trever, Devin, Mason, Chace, and Moriah; brother, Rodney L. Brower and wife, Toni, of Lewistown; and many nieces and nephews, who were dearly loved.
She was a Chief Logan High School graduate, Class of 1974. Wanda attended McCann School of Business and was proud to have made the dean’s list every semester.
Wanda was employed at Hartley’s Potato Chip Factory, Kirby’s Shirt Factory, B & D Market, Dr. Kitting’s Practice, and New Holland. Later in life, she was content as a homemaker.
Wanda loved her family. Her main priority was making sure everyone had everything they needed and if they didn’t, she would make darn sure they got it. She would always say, “If my kids are happy, then I am happy. That is all.” As her sons were growing up, she was a Cub Scout den mother and later, cubmaster. She coached her sons’ baseball team and was instrumental in starting the local Keystone Football League. While juggling many sporting activities, Wanda was very proud to have home schooled her grandson. She loved to relax and “jam out” to her favorite music.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024, followed by the memorial service at 3 p.m., at Maitland Church of the Brethren, 315 Crossover Drive, Lewistown, with Pastor Jeannine Leister officiating.
Memorial contributions in Wanda’s memory may be made to Maitland Church of the Brethren.
