William David Olnick

William David Olnick, 90, of Belleville, formerly of Burnham, passed away at 9:21 a.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Valley View Haven, Belleville.

Born April 21, 1932, he was a son of the late Harry and Stephanie (Kryston) Olnick.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Esther M. (McNitt) Olnick, whom he married April 27, 1957, four brothers and two sisters.

William is survived by a brother, Leon Olnick, of Lewistown, sister, Lucy Morris and husband, Philip, of King of Prussia, sister-in-law, Dorothy Olnick, of Burnham, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a Burnham High School graduate.

William served in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1953 during the Korean conflict.

Early in life, he was employed by the American Viscose Corporation. He later worked for Standard Steel Corporation as a plant utility worker for 23 years, prior to retiring in 1994. William was also employed as a barber for various local shops.

He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Lewistown, United Steelworkers of America Local 1940, Lewistown Elks Club No. 663, and Lost Creek Golf Club.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Avenue, Burnham. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the Burnham Funeral Home with Father Peter Rettig officiating.

Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
