William J. Walters

William J. “Bill” Walters, 78, of Lewistown, passed away June 27, 2025, at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.

Born April 28, 1947, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late George A. and Laura M. (Ritchey) Walters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joy Noerr and brother, Ellsworth ‘Pete’ Miller.

He is survived by his wife, Linda M. (Royer) Walters; son, Chadd Walters and fiancé, Gwen Brought, of Lewistown; grandchildren Kassondra Walters and Macayla Walters; and sister, Georgia Parks, of Granville.

William was a heavy equipment operator at HandwerkSite Contractors. He was a hard worker all his life.

He enjoyed woodworking, taking care of his property and loved his dog, Chance.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Josh Randolph officiating.

Interment will be at Juniata Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in William’s memory to St. Judes Children’s Hospital Cancer, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
