Winifred "Winnie" McCardle Obituary

Winifred “Winnie” Jean McCardle, 88, of Yeagertown, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023, at her home.

Born Oct. 26, 1935, in Yeagertown, she was the only daughter of the late Mirl S. and Mary E. (Burlew) Dill.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson McCardle Jr., to whom she was married for 62 years; and three brothers, Fred Dill, William “Bud” Dill, and a brother in infancy.

Winnie is survived by:  daughter, Jennifer L. Eichhorn and companion, Jeffrey Mock, of Yeagertown; grandchildren, Morgan Eichhorn, Madelyn Eichhorn, and Wade Eichhorn Jr.; and her brother, Kenneth Dill and wife, Dorothy, of Milroy.

She was a Chief Logan/Yeagertown High School graduate, Class of 1954.

Winnie was a member of Yeagertown United Methodist Church.

She retired from Trinity Packaging Corporation.

Winnie lived for her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their school and extracurricular activities.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Avenue, Burnham, followed by a graveside service and interment at Juniata Memorial Park, 9010 US Highway 522 South, Lewistown, with Major Fred Clarke officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Winifred’s memory to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
