On Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 6:37 a.m., we lost our best friend, father, and husband, Joseph E. Ughetto Sr., of Yeagertown. Joe fought a long battle with Crohn’s disease and is now resting peacefully.
Born May 27, 1935, in Lewistown, he was the youngest son of the late Aurelio and Mary (Fulli) Ughetto.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, John, Louis, and Richard.
Joe is survived by: his wife, Nancy (Yohn) Ughetto, whom he married in 1957, and celebrated 60 years of marriage in July, 2017; their son, Joseph E. Ughetto II, of Lewistown; and grandsons, Jared and Conner Ughetto, both of Lewistown.
He was Catholic by faith and stood strong in his religion.
Joe graduated from Lewistown High School and went on to serve in the Army as a medic.
He retired from Standard Steel after 42 years, where he ran a roughing lathe in Machine Shop 2.
Joe was an extremely talented wood craftsman who could build anything just by seeing a photo. He built the family home and most of the furniture.
